Guinness: QR-Pint

Guinness wanted to become more relevant by its target group and get talked about in bars. They created the Guinness QR cup and distributed them to bars. When the glass was filled with Guinness, it revealed a QR-code. People could then scan it, tweet it and share it with their friends..

Guinness: QR-Pint, 3.7 out of 5 based on 19 ratings

Scanned it and it brings me to a page of web hosting sites. Did it 3 times with different scanning apps, just in case. In short: doesn’t seem to work from where I am.

Ditto i tried it as well, and was taken to a hosting website.
Also the Audience of a Pint of Guinness will either not give a crap about a QR code, not know what it is, or if they are the rugby lot, will get shredded by their mates for getting their Phone out at the Pub!

Well, I think it’s one of the most clever campaigns I’ve ever seen! Seems to have just started and has 900 scans – interestingly, from over 50 countries too.

Probably the readership of this Blog! Do you meanCampaign or do you actually mean execution? If this is one of the cleverest you have seen i feel sorry for you.
