This is a remarking campaign of Lays. For their ‘Kettle Cooked Chips‘ they came up with this crazy idea to carve a billboard. They hired a team of skilled artisans which made the following never-seen-before billboard. The whole idea was to prove that their kettle cooked chips are made with the traditional, artisan cooking methods. The carving took 10 days.

To capture the attention of potential advertisers, they used what at first seems like an off-putting message. Upon closer inspection, it turns out to be a practical call-to-action. Have a good look at what letter should be replaced by the red “*”.

Probably everyone dreams of getting a cool sports car like the new Audi R8 Spider. You have to admit, this machine is extremely cool, but also extremely expensive. So if you someday want to buy one there is only one simple message: stay in school.

Some nice billboards designed for Coca Cola, the straws from the bottles are used in situations outside of the billboard. Can we call this ‘thinking outside the box’?

Edit: Rindert posted a similar ad back in 2009. It’s from the same agency, so probably these are new pictures of the campaign back then. Or maybe they’ve continued it with new ideas this year?

Passers-by will need special glasses to fully appreciate this first 3D billboard in the UK made for Wonderbra. The new ad promotes Wonderbra’s Full Effect bra and reminds us of Wonderbra’s 1990s campaign “Hello Boys” featuring supermodel Eva Herzigova. This time Brazilian model Sabraine Banado was the lucky one.

Watch the video after the jump.

The office building of the Dutch advertising agency Doom & Dickson is getting renovated, during these works a strange message was sent into the world. Funny thing is the fact that Jack Doom and Bill Dickson never existed; they are made up personalities. These supposedly founders of the advertising agency even have their own book and website. Fantastic branding we say.

More then 100,000 bees swarmed together to form the world’s first live bee-board ever. “Save Our Swarm” was created in Devon by Banrock Station Wines in support of the Co-operative’s Plan Bee Campaign.

Money from the sale of every bottle of special edition wine will go to help preserve Britain’s dwindling bee population.

The concept of combining a billboard and the sun has been done several times, remember this one? But in this case the effect created is extremely good. The model changes from having blonde hair into black in just a couple of hours.

YMCA Twin Cities promoted their fitness programs by organizing a ‘fatpants’ drive. A fatpants is a pair of pants in which the wearer can feel comfortable without worrying about how he/she looks. In YMCA lobbies donation boxes were placed, as members lost weight, they were encouraged to donate their fatpants. As donated pants came in they were added to the outdoor boards to demonstrate the success of the weight loss programs. In just a few months, thousands of pants were collected and donated to the local Salvation Army.
