After a year of brainstorming, drawing designing and redesigning we proudly present the new creative design of our advertising blog. The old design is officially history!

The idea is simple, we wanted a unique design for our blog that fits the style of Creative Criminals. You will probably remember the collection of Creative Criminals we presented in 2010. With the new design we wanted to continue this style with a link to the advertising world itself. Advertising boomed in the 1920’s on Madison Avenue in New York City, so we recreated a skyscraper based on this old building.

We started with a sketch of the building and eventually we ended up with the design you are experiencing right now. Have a look at the evolution above, click on the individual images to view the large sketches. Do not be scared to take a second to look at it more carefully, you will continuously find new exciting details. For example the about page and even the custom 404 page.

But that is not everything, we created an astonishing billboard on the rooftop of the building. A fully integrated flash banner that is, unlike other banners, not disturbing at all. In reality you can find billboards on top of buildings as well, so why not integrate it in our design? If you are interested in advertising on the blog, you should check out our advertise page.

Over the last year we have kept you up to date with the most amazing advertising campaigns. We would like to ask you to return the favour by spreading the word about the new design. Twitter, Facebook, all social media networks you have are helpful. You may even send a carrier pigeon to all your friends.

We would like to thank all the people that have helped to make the launch of our new design possible. Especially Ahfatt from originideas.com, our designer, Kevin & Jeffrey from basing.nl for the scripting and Laura Verstraeten, the Flash developer. We will also use the opportunity to thank others that have supported us for a long time. Matt & Dave from BD (UK), Renee Bani from Numero10 (Switzerland) and Gerald Hensel from Blast Radius (The Netherlands).

Finally we would like to thank all of you for visiting our blog, for submitting creative advertisements and commenting on campaigns. 2011 is going to be an amazing advertising year! Feel free to let us know what you think of the new design.

Aden is a Royal Bengal Tiger, born in Bangladesh. He was raised by his parents in the Wonderbaums, the largest mangrove forest in the world. His father was responsible for bringing food on the table while his mother took care of her cub. When Aden was about 5 years old, his mother died of a rare disease. Since then, Aden and his father left the mangrove forest due to the bad memory.

The following years Aden’s father thought him everything he should know to survive for the day his father would pass away. A couple years later, when wandering around in Myanmar, hunters trapped Aden and his father. Due to the brute power of his father they got away. This story travelled fast and was noticed by some founders of the largest fighting tournament in Asia. Aden’s father was promised a lot of money if he won the tournament, which would make their life better. The competition was strong but he managed to get to the final round, where he beat his opponent.

Bossies was born in the slums of Cape-Town, South Africa. When he was a kid he suffered from a severe form of attention deficit disorder, because of this he never went to school. He wound up as a member of a gang that controlled a big part of the slums.

Bossies is not his real name, it’s his nickname, meaning going totally crazy in South African. One day a grenade blew up right next to his head and there is still some shrapnel stuck in his brain. Since that day he has gone insane.
