AXA Insurance Belgium launches an iPhone application. The free application helps and guides you through some basic steps when you have a car accident. This product has been launched with an innovative print ad that requires your iPhone to complete the message.

But how does the i-ad start on its own? you have to at least scan the printed ad or something to make the i-ad start! Secondly, wouldn’t such an ad require the app to be pre-loaded, whereas the ad asks people to download the app. Something not right here!

it says in french that you have to put you phone on the ad and surf to their webiste.

I am betting that there is a 2D tag embedded in the ad somewhere. The iPhone sees it (with the camera) and launches the website. These are starting to show up all over the place.
