The new video of the German ‘Mannschaft’ starts with this quote. It’s a new campaign made by Adidas for the World Championship 2010. The Germans lost their identity and jersey, and you can help them to earn it back. The game takes you back in time and makes you play matches for the ‘Deutsche Mannschaft’. The gameplay is extremely simple and really cool to play.


Lazer: Hospital

Lazer is a brand of bike helmets. In this print ad they show how strong this type of helmet is because his upper head is the only part that is not casted. It clearly did not get damaged in the accident. Once again Duvalle Guillaume gets all the credit for making this great advertisement.

Look closely, the guy has a beerbelly. My guess is he like Heineken.


Radio AM640: Pee Poster

AM 640 is a sports radio station, it’s situated in Toronto (the biggest city of Canada). Toronto is also the city of the famous Toronto Maple Leafs, one of the best hockey teams in Canada. To promote the radio station Saatchi&Saatchi placed posters in the mensroom at the Air Canada Centre, the home of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The poster has a motion detector, and when someone walks up to the urinal it plays an audio tape. I bet this is pretty funny when you go and have a leak. But what if you have to go 5 times in one night? It wont be that funny anymore…


BMW: kinetic sculpture trailer

BMW launches its kinetic sculpture trailer for the new BMW 5 Series Sedan. The mechatronic installation involves 714 metal balls moving in an interplay of mechanics, electronics and code. It has been awarded best of show at the One Show Design awards and two golden Lions at Cannes.

On November 23th, BMW will broadcast the complete unveiling live on bmw.tv. For those who are interested 8 pm CET.


Gap: store upside down

Gap launched its new loyalty program “Sprize” last week on Robson Street in Vancouver.

Gap claims is a retailing first, allows people to buy clothing at full price and receive automatic credits should it go on sale in the next 45 days. Customers can spend this credit at Gap, Banana Republic or Old Navy stores.

Advertising agency Cossette West uses the tag line “Shopping turned on its head” for this campaign. Visitors to the Robson Street store found everything flipped on its head from 6 till November 10th.



Almost everything has been inverted including the store logo, clothes racks that were fixed to the ceiling and even the cars in front of the store were flipped around. I especially liked the hot dog cart outside the store that was turned over and the up side down logo on the Gap shopping bags.

DHL: Berlin Wall

On November the 9th, the Germans celebrated the 20th anniversary of the end of the famous concrete barrier also known as the Berlin wall. The German Democratic Republic (GDR) built this wall in the 1960’s that completely enclosed the city of West Berlin, separating it from East Germany including East Berlin.

After a quarter of a century, during a revolutionary wave sweeping across the Eastern Bloc, the East German government announced on November 9, 1989, after several weeks of civil unrest, that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin. Crowds of East Germans climbed onto and crossed the wall, joined by West Germans on the other side in a celebratory atmosphere.



This is a print ad where DHL takes us back to those years. A man in an East German apartment unpacks a hammer, while the Berlin Wall appears through the window.
The slogan is: “Before you even think you need it.”


Vintage Tuesday: Lingerie & Swimsuits

Lingerie and sexy swimsuits.. What would life be without them?
This weeks topic for Vintage Tuesday will be nothing else than good old ads about lingerie and swimsuits.
Not only you can see the advertising-techniques change throughout the years, but also how the lingerie and swimsuits become smaller and smaller..



From the Old French linge, meaning “linen,” the term “lingerie” was originally introduced into the English language as a euphemism for scandalous underclothing. Lingerie has a rich and elaborate history: From the laced corset “wasp waists” and “false buttocks” to the uplifted busts of the early 1990 supermodels, you can all see it on Creative Criminals!

Print ads
Because lingerie was first a taboo for a lot of people, in France the trend (of making sexy lingerie) began growing. The world followed and in the early 1900’s you can see that brands started to advertise. The first ad (1902) is for ‘Justrite‘, an old lingerie fabric situated in Chicago.
Bit by bit lingerie brands started to provoke by making the ads spicier and more erotic. In the two following ads you can see how Debevoise (1919) and Penmans are changing compared to the first ad.
The next tree are from Real Silk (1940), Jantzen (1954) and Maidenform (1963).



TV Commercials
In the early 30’s, they also began with TV commercials. The first video is one for Baumhueter, a German brand that was very popular in the United States.
After the jump you can see another amusing German spot for Felina (1950), where as a viewer you can see through the clothes of pretty ladies..
In the last video they show the newest swimsuits in the 50’s.




Nespresso: What Else?

Advertising Agency McCann Erickson France and Robert Rodriguez have created a new commercial for Nestlé’s Nespresso featuring George Clooney and John Malkovich. Helen Lindes, Miss Spain 2000 stars as the shop-girl.



George Cloony has been working for the brand since 2006 year. At that time the first Nespresso What else? series was shot.

The plot of the new commercial is surprising. George, who has just bought a new Nespresso coffee-machine in the store and is killed by a falling piano on leaving the outlet. He goes to heaven and he make a nice deal with God (John Malkovich) if he wants to. If you go to the website www.nespresso-whatelse.com you are given three options on what you would do if you were George Clooney.

Unicef: Every child needs a family

Many children are left without a father or a mother due to the political conflicts all over the world. Unicef made this stunning advertisement in 2006 to support Foster Care Project for Children with the slogan: “Every child needs a family”.
