This ad was specially made for the wedding between prince William and Kate Middleton. The new Post-it notes Super Sticky are holding stronger and longer. With this play on current events 3M is wishing Will and Kate to stick together forever.

Scotch Brite is a brand of 3M, the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. This print campaign is a kind of spoof on 3 movies where the main characters have ’sharp’ hands.
“You never know who is going the dishes..”

3M is promoting its double-sided tape with this “69” visual made out of two tape holders. The slogan that goes along with it is ““3M Scotch. Permanent double-sided tape.” For those of you who do not get the clue you are probably too young. Anyway here is a clue: 69 is a sexual position.

3M was so sure their Security Glass was unbreakable, they placed 3 million dollars of cash between panes of transit glass treated with a shatter-resistant coating. Only $500 of real currency stacked on top of fake money.

People could only use their feet to break it. A security guard was nearby to make sure no one broke the rules and that people couldn’t get to keep the money if they broke it.

This is probably one of the most known creative ads and therefore cannot be missed on CreativeCriminals.com

Yet another great advertisement made for Scotch. It seems to be so strong that you can use it to bend a nail and hang a painting on it.

No effort – large profit

This video is not a commercial, but it’s a original video with clearly, product placement of 3M . It’s two-minute clip that required six months of planning, four days of shooting and 6.000 Post-its.
Bang-yao Liu, a student made this for his senior project.

The story behind it is that every time when you have a deadline, you’re not fighting with your work, but with the memories on the post-its all over your desk..

Why do I post this on Creative Criminals?
First of all, because I like the stop-motion video clip, and secondly because this is the perfect example of less effort (promotion)- large profit for 3M.. You could argue whether 3M was a sponsor in this whole project and helped the student and school to realise this insane cool clip, but still..
I truly hope for this guys’ sake that 3M buys his work.. Otherwise, it would be too easy for 3M!

UPDATE: Here’s another really cool stop-motion video. Be sure to check it out!
