To create this original bus stop advertisement must have taken an eternity. 7,563 dices were used to create this happy winning face for the Treasury Casino in Brisbane, Australia.

The ad’s tagline says, “Let the good times roll.”

Toyota: Controversial Yaris ad

Toyota Australia used online social networks to promote their Yaris which is mainly sold to young women. The only problem was that it backfired after a competition-winning short film was criticized as sexist, incestuous and degrading. Toyota apologized for this controversial ad and placed it offline.

Honda: Jazz

This campaign has been made in Australia for the new Honda Jazz.
It shows millions of ‘Mega Bloks’ flow in and out of the car, transforming into a dog, a huge wave, an octopus and so on.. Even though the car is just standing in a grey hall, the commercial is lively and attractive because of the nice animation.

I guess this is a computer animation, attempting to look like real hand-made stop motion video. I’ve searched the internet for a making of and didn’t find anything. But even though this is not ‘real’ it’s a nice commercial..

TAC: Everybody hurts

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is an organization in the State of Victoria striving for less road accidents. It was established in 1986 and is taking a lot of actions to improve security.
During Christmas, a lot of people drink and drive and accidents are more likely to happen.. Here’s a shocking video made to remember people to drive safely.

Why do I post this? Because I wonder if this isn’t too shocking. For people who have lost a family member or friend because of a car accident this is a bad reminder.. On the other hand; this is good to remember people that a car is a deadly weapon.
I’m also asking myself wether all these video images are ‘made’.
Some look real, and I’m not too sure that is legal to post a video where you see sort of images.
Anyway, if you see this, you’ll think twice which is probably the goal of TAC.

Toyota: Better Together

Better Together, that’s the slogan for this spot.
It’s a television commercial made by Saatchi & Saatchi (Sydney) where two men (with four hands) are handling an office job demonstrating the benefits of combining strengths. With this message Toyota wanted to show that combining petrol and electric combustion technologies is a real delight.

For this spot the two dancers had to perish a ten-day choreography training.
Even if they let me practice these movements for two weeks, I don’t think that I could do something like that.

Subaru: Crowd Rider

I posted this ad because I like the idea behind it..
It’s original and it shows that Subaru is not only a sportscar, but also a comfortable car.
During the making it must be odd to feel hundreds of hands touching your butt, but hey: the result is nice!

This is a fantastic example of a good ‘typography’ or ‘kinetic writing’ movie. Every word is spoken and visualised at the same time. Nowadays this technique is used a lot, if just they were all as good as this one. I especially like the way they switch from one theme to another.

McDonald’s: Free Wifi

Apparently McDonald’s offers free wifi connection at their fast-food restaurants and to promote it they used the symbol of wifi. They cleverly used their fries to recreate the symbol. But does this mean that McDonald’s fries are slack?

Update: Apparently this ad was already made by RT&A, Mexico in 2006 for McDonald’s.
