In the 11th of June the FIFA World Cup Football starts in South Africa. Many large companies sponsor this happening or their national team. One of the biggest sponsors of the Australian ‘Socceroos’, Optus – a telecommunication company – has made an impressive commercial. It shows the Australian players (Tim Cahill and Lucas Neill) involved in a secret training camp. Their opponents are … beasts.

The Sunshine Coast Stingrays are an Australian rugby union club, based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. VW, one of its sponsors made this creative advertisement with the following tagline: “We’re proud to support the Sunshine Coast Stingrays.” Have a look at the shoelaces and the logo of Volkswagen.

“Don’t torture our aquatic life” is the tagline of Earth Choice, a household cleaning product.
In the spot it shows how people use sea animals to clean the house: scrubbing the floor with an octopus, doing the dishes with a starfish, unclogging the toilet with a duck and wiping the shower with a manta ray.
Pretty shocking..

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is one of the world leaders in cancer treatment, research and education. Australian based ad agency CHE placed these carved out boards at the beach that show the following text when the sun shines: “Take a break from the sun”.


ANZ: Fraud Squad Helium Gas

This television commercial introduces the ANZ (Australia and New Zealand Banking Group) Fraud Squad, a team of ANZ employees doing whatever it takes to help protect ANZ customers from online credit card fraud. In this ad the boss tests making an unauthorised internet purchase on a card, resulting in the card omitting helium gas (rather than poisonous gas).

In Australia they made an impressive billboard for the Adelaide United Football Club to promote their night games. The site cleverly reinforced the night aspect of the game by having the player on the billboard appear to interact with the ‘moon’, which was attached above the poster with a pole, painted drank.

This advertisement made for International Fund for Animal Welfare, is an anti-whaling campaign that immediately seizes your attention. A stinking pile of bleeding “guts” was place two feet under the poster together with the slogan “Disgusting, isn’t it?”.
