KBC: Gap in the market

It’s pretty hard to start your own business these days. That’s why KBC bank decided to help beginning entrepreneurs instead of being a pain in the #@$. Together with the inhabitants of every single town in Belgium they went searching for what businesses were needed in – yet again – every town in the country.
This campaign was created by TBWA Belgium and created quite some buzz in the press. The lack of local business became a national topic and was even put on the government agenda. On average 560 gaps were reported for each town and more 1500 new business were started as a direct result of the campaign.

Axe is known for its innovation and creativity within online and televised advertising, two media extremely powerful on the target, but above all two very complementary media. The idea therefore was; using mobile as the connector between those two powerful media. Using Shazam injecting excitement and extra coolness into the campaign.


Maes: A barrel for every Maes

Maes is Belgium’s second most popular beer but also Belgium’s 3rd most common surname. So since there is no joy in being second Maes beer gave a free barrel of Maes to all the people with the name Maes. They just had to sign up on Facebook, choose a pub and share the date – and their beer – with all of their friends. The campaign was created by TBWA and broke quite some records. The Facebook fanpage made it into the 6% most active pages worldwide, 1 out 20 Belgians visited the website and the amount of fans tripled in 1 day.

Samusocial: Voicemail

Samusocial invited people to replace their voicemail message with a homeless person’s plea for help. To do so, they invited four homeless people to record their very own message in which they raised awareness about the action. A platform was created, in partnership with Belgium’s 4 biggest phone operators, on which people could simply replace their voicemails in a few clicks… Thus turning Belgian voicemails into a huge, free media opportunity.


BBDO: Mayans can be wrong as well

This year BBDO Belgium didn’t prepare a Christmas Card for its clients because the Mayas predicted the end of the world. Seen we’re still walking around today, they were wrong and so BBDO Brussels asked a Maya to come and explain to their clients why they didn’t send them a card. If you forgot to send a Christmas card to your family our friends as well, please feel free to use him.
