Canon: EOS Grip

Posted by Bert Callens on February 15, 2010 2 comments

This is a simple yet genious print ad, to promote the EOS ProGrip Battery Pack of Canon which is developed by Dentsu, Malaysia. I won’t tell you the clue, just click on the image to find out..
Yet I have this feeling that this isn’t the first time this idea is used.. Anybody knows which advertiser has a similar advertisement?

The Evolution of Print

Posted by Rindert Dalstra on October 6, 2009 2 comments

Photographer Alexx Henry and his team are back to show you how a magazine might look in the not-so-distant future with the October cover and spread for Outside Magazine. In this video they take you through the creation of the Living portrait of the triathlete Chris Lieto photographed using the revolutionary Red One cinema camera.

So in the near future the paper of a magazine will become alive with moving pictures. By simply entering a password, the paper will transforms ifself into a pleasant layout reading for example “Good day Creative Criminals”. All the articles are custom tailored to the person in question.

We at Creative Criminals are about to invest all our savings into this amazing technique =)

Panasonic: Lumix is indestructable

Posted by Sander Janssen on July 11, 2009 No comments yet

How did this guy die? Thanks to his lumix waterproof camera rescueworkers could see what happened hours before his death.
The original advertisement showed the climber lying still, one leg in an awkward angle, perhaps dead. Panasonic withdrew the advertisement after complaints. They created a new version in which the climber moved his arm at the end. However, even that version has now been removed from the Panasonic YouTube channel.
Much of the video, including panoramic and underwater images, was shot using the actual Lumix camera.

Tekeuchi posted a video on Youtube a few months from which Olympus got their inspiration. The video was viewed almost 2 million times.

Nikon: The sensory light box

Just like I’ve posted yesterday, today is another great usage of technology in a billboard.
This campaign won a “Bronze Cannes Lions Media” award.
Equiped with motion detectors and flashes, this billboard makes bypassers feel like superstars. When you walk the red carpet you feel like being photographed, the red carpet leads directly to the Nikon store.

Living movie poster

Posted by Rindert Dalstra on June 10, 2009 No comments yet

A one sheet is a fancy word for movie poster. Movie posters normally do not move but luckily Alexx Henry changed this. They made a poster that looks like a photograph made in the moment but that actually starts moving.

They used a Red One Camera to make it happen. It is a digital cinema camera that can shoot 24 frames a second.

Concept #1: “Teacher’s Pet”
Concept #2: “Diplomacy!”
Concept #3: “Students Have No Class”
