Some nice billboards designed for Coca Cola, the straws from the bottles are used in situations outside of the billboard. Can we call this ‘thinking outside the box’?

Edit: Rindert posted a similar ad back in 2009. It’s from the same agency, so probably these are new pictures of the campaign back then. Or maybe they’ve continued it with new ideas this year?

Audi: Quattro sticks

During the Toronto film festival, Audi “guerilla’d” the city with minitiature models. They placed super powerfull magnets on the bottom of the models and sticked them on metal places all around Toronto. After people have struggled to pry the minitiature model, they saw a message at the bottom of the car “Nothing sticks like Quattro”.

David Suzuki Foundation: The tideline project

The David Suzuki Foundation is an organisation that is concerned about the environment. With this guerrilla campaign they are reminding people of global warming. They created artificial tide lines in the city, so it looked like the city had been flooded.


McDonald’s: Beach Umbrallas

McDonald’s helps the people in Toronto to cool off with these specially designed beach umbrellas. They used the straws and drink covers to assemble them. It is a part of McDonald’s Drink Days promotion. Thank you for the tip Cedric Sayous.


Canadian Red Cross: Flood

Worldwide support for the flood victims in Pakistan is starting slow. It’s one of the biggest disasters ever happened so there is a lot of money needed. With this print campaign the Canadian Red Cross is convincing people to donate for this cause. The copy says: “Don’t let hope get washed away. We are on the ground, providing aid to flood victims in Pakistan. And we need your support.”

The federation of milk producers in Quebec, Canada created a giant milk carton on top of a bus shelter. Two busstops were selected, one at Montreal and the other one at Quebec. Fake milk was dripping on the side of the bus shelter, which had a image of a glass of milk on it.

The LCBO, a conservative government agency wanted to run an ad in the annual pride guide of Toronto. But before creating the ad they reviewed the concepts internally. The gay members of the staff immediately selected the cheekiest concept. An amazing copy proves this, ending with the slogan: ‘But most of all, cheers to you. For being who you are. and proud of it.’
