Here’s a nice optical illusion created by Newcastle Brown Ale. One person stands in a special location, while another climbs inside a larger than life replica of Newcastle’s traditional glass, the Geordie Schooner. The effect: it looks like they are trapped in a giant pint of Newcastle Brown Ale. When people uploaded their picture on Foursquare or Facebook, they got a free T-shirt.

A part of the Dutch tradition are Delft blue tiles and KLM created a nice Facebook app with it. Users can decorate their profile picture and add an inspirational saying. Futhermore they can share it with friends by using the KLM ‘Tile Yourself’ Facebook App. Part of the campaign is the chance to see your Delft blue portrait tile displayed on a real KLM plane, which will be flown around the world.

This online Facebook campaign was created for Scandinavian Airlines. Users had to change their profile picture to one of the destinations they want to go to. A matching image had to be uploaded to their wall. The most creative images would win the trips. Unfortunately the capaign was against the Facebook advertising policy.

Die Welt is a popular German Newspaper. Now a days there is also a compact 32 pages variant of the newspaper called Welt Kompakt. To promote their new “Short, Different, Printed” version they made these hilarious Facebook short lines:

To visually demonstrate the smart’s smallest turning radius, city cement trucks have been transformed into naturally rotating mobile billboards with a smart fortwo coupe on their spinning cement drums. On Facebook, the first five people to take a photo of the cement truck and post it to Smart Canada’s Facebook page will win 2 tickets to the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto.

This app is not accompanied with any annoying logo’s or refferences to the brand. But when this trend catches on everyone will know was made by Schweppes. Branding as it should be!

After only two days they received 15.000 fans and the limited edition of 1.000 books were gone in only an hour.
