DNA Project: Crime scene

Every year in South Africa thousands of criminals escape conviction due to people disturbing crime scene evidence. The DNA Project set out to educate the public never to interfere with a crime scene. They created a 6×8m canvas out of small white stones. Onto this they spray painted the giant mugshot of a criminal. As people walked over the installation the criminal’s identity became more and more unrecognisable.


Mweb Spam Filter: Blocked ads

FoxP2 came up with this great idea to promote an online spam filter. Instead of a boring ad they did the complete opposite and filtered out all the ads on 2 pages of a newspaper. Just illustrate what a spam filter does appears to be the perfect approach. The text in the empty space says “This ad blocked by Mweb Spam Filter”.


Drive Dry: Wrecked

At the occasion of a Whisky Live Festival, Drive Dry, an organization striving for safe driving, created an ambient campaign. They collected the personal belongings of Heather Cosser, a woman killed by a drunk driver. Those belongings were crushed in a heavy-duty compressor into a square, which was put at the festival.


Isca Taps: Mirror

Wonderful idea for Isca Taps, it’s not really innovative. But it proves again simplicity is all you need. The tap is so beautiful it needs the check itself in the mirror.

Update: I said it’s not really innovative, but this is just a shameless copy, it was already done by Publicis Casadevall Barcelona in 2003.
