McDonald’s: Come as you are

Posted by Bert Callens on July 30, 2010 No comments yet

This ad has been made by McDonald’s France. It’s about a boy who’s in love, yet his dad can’t know. It has a bit of an emotional touch in it with the tagline “Come as you are”.
Why posting this ad? Spicy Detail: The commercial can’t be broadcasted in the US, due to cultural differences. It was mocked by Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, who angered gay campaigners by asking whether McDonald’s would make similar ads for terrorists.

This is a cool spot for the famous brand of deodorant and shower products Axe, also known as Lynx. We’re not gonna tell you why it’s so special, that would ruin the surprise. Just see for yourself.

At first this spot is a bit confusing, but in the end it all makes sense. The idea is simply great! The casting is also worth mentioning, these actors fit their roles perfectly.

In 58 countries, death penalty is still applied. 139 countries have abolished it. To fight those countries where it is still a penalty, Amnesty International (France) made this taking infomercial about their horrific practices.
As always, Amnesty knows how to nail the point.

Amnesty International: Matryoshka dolls

Posted by Rindert Dalstra on June 21, 2010 2 comments

This French TV commercial made for Amnesty International uses Matryoshka dolls to prove the Russia has charms but also has a lot of cruelties. The French sentence at the end roughly translates into the following: “Do not let the charm of Russia make us forget their heinous deeds.”

The matching slogan for this print campaign says it all: “It’s summertime in London. Paris-London 77EURO return”. I just can’t wait to return to this beautifull city.

Freedent: Don’t be afraid

Oké this spot is kinda wierd, but it’s funny as well. Don’t be afraid to open your mounth, just use some Freedent gum. After the jump you can find the second spot, too bad they’ve done this one, they should have stopped after the first.

Fiat: Great Minds

Posted by Bert Callens on May 23, 2010 No comments yet

Probably this commercial will have several opponents: “What a way to promote a car brand?“.
Yet on the other side this clip will have its proponents due to the ‘thinking-out-of-the-box’-idea behind this commercial..
Well yeah, you either love or hate Fiat’s, don’t we?

Inpes: Chance

Posted by Sander Janssen on May 21, 2010 No comments yet

This ad aired in the end of 2009, we ran across it today and it’s absolutely amazing. It’s an anti-smoke campaign from Inpes (a French anti tobacco association). If you see this clip you will realise how lucky you are to ‘exist’. It’s a summary of all the odds that played a role before you could be born.

D.N.F.: Toxic waste

Posted by Sander Janssen on May 1, 2010 No comments yet

D.N.F. is a French non-profit organisation that defends Non-smokers Rights. We’ve seen a lot of anti-tobacco commercials pass along here at Creative Criminals, but this one has one of the most unique approaches of them all. In this commercial they imply that people who smoke poison their selves on purpose and pay for it. But the coolest thing is they brewed a story to it, they are saying companies are disposing their toxic waste in cigarettes. Pretty cool approach according to us.
