Game on, Nike and Adidas. Greenpeace is calling out to see which one is stronger on the flats, quicker on the breaks, turns faster and plays harder at a game called ‘Detox’: Who willl be the first to take action and eliminate hazardous chemical discharges from their supply chain? Who will be the champion of a toxic-free future?

In the latest video of Greenpeace we get to see an exclusive interview with Ken about Barbie in which he is confronted with Barbie’s scandalous deforestation habit. Mattel, producer of toys such as Fisher-Price and Hot Wheels, wraps all the Barbie-dolls in rainforest destruction and pushing endangered Sumatran tigers to the brink of extinction. Next to the amusing video, Greenpeace placed a giant billboard on the buildings of Mattel on which Ken declares he’s done with Barbie. Very amusing!

Greenpeace is not happy with Mark Zuckerberg, who is known as the maker of Facebook. Facebook uses a lot of servers in data centers, and therefore a lot of electrcity. The problem Greenpeace has is that Facebook runs on servers powered by electricity generated mostly (58%) from the burning of coal.

The video Greenpeace released attempts to send the message that Facebook needs to change its energy practices or it will lose all its friends. Although that’s far from the case, 600,000 Facebook users joined a group on the social network asking them to Unfriend Coal.

You can join the campaign here.

Another ad for Greenpeace, and it’s really good. We’re not talking about good production or camera angles, but the message is just genius. We are not going to tell you what this message says, that would ruin the commercial. You just have to see for yourself.

Greenpeace: stapled trees

With this piece of art Greenpeace wants to address the problem of the over usage of office paper. Everyone who has ever worked in an office knows there is way too much paper wasted. Greenpeace is associating the use of staples with the use of paper, that’s why they made this cool image completely out of staples! The matching slogan says: “The more you staple, the more trees are chopped. Save office paper.”
You should definitely check the image in real size.

Tomorrow the COP15 United Nations Climate Change Conference starts in Copenhagen.
For many people this a very important conference, because the ‘health’ of the earth depends on it. Many of them believe that even if world leaders come together and make an effort, no big or drastic changes will be made. That’s why Greenpeace already made the following campaign where you can see the world leaders in 2020, saying “I’m sorry, we could have stopped catastrophic climate change… We didn’t“.

These print are placed in the airport of Copenhagen hoping to reach as much people as possible and even maybe one of the world leaders.. On the print ads the following leaders appear: Obama (USA), Sarkozy (France), Merkel (Germany), Tusk (Poland), Lula (Brasil), Zapatero (Spain), Brown (United Kingdom) and Harper (Canada).

After the jump you can the rest of the print ads shown at the airports.

“The melting of the glaciers is an indisputable sign of global climate change”.
That’s not the first time we hear something like that. But not everyone is willing to change!
Luckily there is still one non-profit organization that does everything to change peoples mind… Greenpeace!

Greenpeace Switzerland assembled 600 volunteers to do a photo shoot under Spencer Tunick, famous for his pictures of nude gatherings in public settings worldwide. (Like in Mexico City, where 18.000 people undressed themselves for the man)
The organisers said they wanted to demonstrate a symbolic relationship between the vulnerability of the melting glacier and the human body.

Nice work, I must admit..
After the video you can see some pics (for the fans, really good zoom-quality!)

This campaign was made for Greenpeace to save the oceans and everything that lives in it. These sea animals are all made out of pencils. The slogan reads: “Every signature helps save our seas.” It was awarded a Silver Lion at Cannes this year.
