Guinness: dartboard

Since this blog was created we’ve seen a couple of ads for Guinness, and to be honest they’ve never let me down. It would be nice to see some other brands take an example from the quality of the Guinness campaigns.

But off course Guinness is a beer, and you drink it in a bar. So the commercial activities should appeal to people in bars. We’ve seen one great example some time ago. Today I found another one, it’s pretty old (2006) but I’ve never seen it before so I think it’s worth sharing.

Guinness: Bring it to life

Posted by Bert Callens on November 7, 2009 No comments yet

Guinness recorded this remarkable spot in four different countries: New Zealand, Canada, Fiji and the U.K. They did not say how much the commercial cost, but the project required three months of preparation and more than 8,000km of scouting before filming began in Canada.

The production crew included the set designer from the third Lord of the Rings film. The set for the underwater scene took three months to build and the shot where grass is dragged into place, filmed in New Zealand on a disused bombing range, required army assistance.

Guinness: Pool cue

Posted by Sander Janssen on September 3, 2009 No comments yet

We’re always discussing which brand of beer has the best advertising campaigns. But now I realize we were forgetting Guinness. I love this ad, it’s so subtle yet brilliant! But I’m wondering if it would be this effective if people use bleu chalk on top of the cue…

Guinness since 1759, so this year it exists 250 years. If you look closely you see that the four numbers make a guy that is drinking Guinness.
