Amnesty International: Tyrannybook

Amnesty International Portugal and Leo Burnett Iberia launched Tyrannybook, a social network dedicated to the surveillance of some of the world leaders who violate Human Rights the most. By building a global community of Human Rights defenders, this nonprofits organization aims to get more involved in the social networks during this year 2010.



Working together with Facebook, the users can update about the faults committed by those leaders against the well known and recognised Human Rights. Released by Amnesty, the profiles of the tyrants are updated both by the organization itself and by the users.


McDonald’s: Shamrock Shake

The Chicago River was first dyed green in 1962 to coincide with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Nowadays each year on parade day, a crew led by Mike Butler uses about 40 pounds of dye to colour the river green. Depending on the currents the river will stay green for about five hours. This was a perfect way to promote McDonald’s seasonal green Shamrock Shake.

In Belgium people eat a lot of mayonnaise, so for us this ad is pretty funny. But it’s imaginable others find it disgusting. A plate full of mayonnaise is not very appealing, but the idea behind it is just genious. This ad won a bronze lion at the 2007 Cannes festival.


Leroy Merlin: Do it yourself

Leroy Merlin is a French worldwide home-improvement and gardening retailer. Their stores are large centers providing self-service for building, gardening, sanitary equipment, renewable energy and interior decoration.
Under their motto ‘You’d better do it yourself‘, they made a print campaign where they show why you shouldn’t hire a gardener, a plumber or an electrician.

Emirates Airlines: 39.000 ft high Cinema

Emirates Airlines recently entered a new media system with 1.200 channels on their flights. To promote that, they converted several movie theaters in São Paulo, into a plane by placing the typical airline windows all over the cinema.
Before the movie started, the lights faded and people could read the following text:
“Imagine a movie theater at 39.000 ft, with over 1.200 channels. Movies, TV-shows, music and more on demand.. The world’s most complete on board entertainment.”

Yoga refers to traditional physical and mental disciplines. Originally it’s from India, but the last decade Yoga became a way of living for many from all over the world.
LifeYoga, a yoga-club in Hong Kong is specialised in “Bikram yoga”, a series of poses carried out in a room maintained at the temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit or 40 degrees Celsius. By doing Bikram, the body becomes more flexible and rid the body of toxins.

LifeYoga and Leo Burnett made this spicy and eye-cathing campaign to convince people to try it out. “Sweat Off Your Flab. Hot Yoga at Life Yoga”.



Arts and Earth: Straw

Giant drinking straws were place in waterways, streams and rivers around Kuala Lumpur city (Malaysia). A notice board attached to the giant straw calls the public to vote for necessary recycling to reduce water pollution. The campaign was made for Arts and Earth Festival organized by the Global Environment Centre.

Continue polluting, and soon you may not have a choice.


McDonald’s: LED Billboard

The McDonald’s giant interactive LED billboard at London’s Piccadilly Circus was created to do more than just sell hamburgers, It is an interactive poster at one of the busiest placed in London (2,8 million people that pass it every month).



Using a series of 40 second iconic still and moving images, people can take pictures of them with our poster as a backdrop and create a fun photo of them appearing to wear or do something.


Norwegian: Thermometers

In the coldest part of the winter Norwegian Air Shuttle, the second-largest airline in Scandinavia reminds the people that they can easy get to warmer places with services.

Electronic thermometers were installed in billboard showing live temperatures, and at the same time informed how cheap it is to escape the cold Norwegian winters.
