Canon: EOS Grip

Posted by Bert Callens on February 15, 2010 2 comments

This is a simple yet genious print ad, to promote the EOS ProGrip Battery Pack of Canon which is developed by Dentsu, Malaysia. I won’t tell you the clue, just click on the image to find out..
Yet I have this feeling that this isn’t the first time this idea is used.. Anybody knows which advertiser has a similar advertisement?

Giant drinking straws were place in waterways, streams and rivers around Kuala Lumpur city (Malaysia). A notice board attached to the giant straw calls the public to vote for necessary recycling to reduce water pollution. The campaign was made for Arts and Earth Festival organized by the Global Environment Centre.

Continue polluting, and soon you may not have a choice.

HP: holes in the wall

Posted by Rindert Dalstra on December 17, 2009 1 comment

HP uses a creative way to advertise their advanced photo paper. They made people second guess whether they were looking at a fake background or an actual scene. In reality, the only fake thing was the hole printed on HP paper

Jeep: Two Worlds

Posted by Bert Callens on December 14, 2009 1 comment

What happens if you breed a Husky with a Dromedary? Or a Capricorn with a Crocodile..
You get a Jeep.

This is a print campaign from 2009 for Jeep called: Two Worlds. It has received several awards. And no wonder; they’ve nailed it just by using simple drawings.
It doesn’t always has to be complex to be good..

Safeguard Antibacterial Soap

Posted by Sander Janssen on October 23, 2009 No comments yet

Whatever it’s touched, you touch.

This ad for antibacterial soap explains in a simple way why you should use this soap. It’s not the idea I like so much, because it’s been done before, but the artwork! You should definitely click on the images, this ad goes into full detail. Next time you pick something up from the ground you should definitely think twice…

Tiger Beer: Extreme Armwrestling

In a beer commercial two things are likely to happen.
Or men behave them as little kids and do stupid stuff, or there is a hottie in the ad.
In the next commercial both things happens..

Ikea: Stair-drawers

Posted by Sander Janssen on June 25, 2009 No comments yet

Some time ago Rindert posted a cool example of using stairs for doing a promotion. Coca Cola did a great job on this.

But I believe IKEA has done an even better job. Offcourse it has been done a lot, and it’s not quite original anymore. But still the effect they created is pretty amazing.

Cannes Lions, the best of the best

Posted by Bert Callens on May 24, 2009 2 comments

You probably all know Cannes Lions, it’s one of the biggest International Advertising Festivals. Like the famous film festival of Cannes, Cannes Lions is a global festival for people working in advertising. It is a seven-day festival where the best commercials worldwide are rated by a jury.
This year Cannes Lions is running from 21-27 June.

Creative Criminals is looking forward to this event, because only the best of the best can compete with eachother during this festival. Therefore we decided to share the winning commercials of last year, with our loyal CC-followers.
Every week, untill the Cannes Lions Festival starts, we’ll post a selection of the award-winning campaigns. We already have posted an award-winning commercial of last year: Little Hands from Herringbone.

For this week we posted a commercial from Petronas, one of the biggest oil & gas companies of the world.
It tells the story of Tan Hong Ming, a malaysian kid who is in love with a girl from his school..
Our children are colour blind, shouldn’t we keep them that way..
This ad won gold in the category ‘Comprising film’

Pantene: Strong haired enveloppe

Posted by Rindert Dalstra on May 7, 2009 No comments yet

Media establishments received a variety of information on Pantene’s latest products and most recent events in a branded envelope. The string that seals the envelope appears to be coming from the woman’s hair on the flap. To seal or unseal it means putting pressure on the string effectively dramatizing strong hair.
