Here’s a new print campaign for McDonald’s in Israel. They’ve changed their menus and made them lighter in calories and fat. They then made this simple print campaign with the ‘M’ of medium shown as the ‘M’ of McDonald’s saying, ‘It’s not what you had in mind’
During the biggest public festival in Switzerland, the Zurichfest, McDonald’s is confronted with heavy competition by independent food stalls. So they needed something to catch the visitors’ attention. During the festival all official street markings like pedestrian crossings are taken out of function, this enabled McDonalds to reshape the pedestrian crossing in front of their restaurant into a portion of french fries.
This ad has been made by McDonald’s France. It’s about a boy who’s in love, yet his dad can’t know. It has a bit of an emotional touch in it with the tagline “Come as you are”.
Why posting this ad? Spicy Detail: The commercial can’t be broadcasted in the US, due to cultural differences. It was mocked by Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, who angered gay campaigners by asking whether McDonald’s would make similar ads for terrorists.
Curious? Click on the movie to play.
Yet another creative print advertisement made for MacDonald’s. This time they use an item from their menu, the top of a bun. They make it look like the moon to promote that their fast food restaurant is 24 hours a day open.
As well as sourcing the majority of its ingredients from the UK and Ireland, McDonald’s has committed to raising awareness of the vital role of British farms. The commercial delivers on this promise with a quirky celebration of British weather and its importance to their farmers.
This ad was released in April this year, strangely we’ve never seen it before. Hopefully you will enjoy it as much as we did. As you can notice McDonald’s is definitely working on their image.

The last one for today, but definitely not least. This is a custom billboard for McDonalds in Chicago. The billboard is functioning as a sundial, it’s not only telling you what time it is, but also which snack you should eat at McDonalds at this specific time. The concept obviously doesn’t work when it’s cloudy.
It is fun for kids to go to McDonald’s. Every time they come they get to play in the playland built in the McDonald’s.
Under their slogan “I’m Loving It“, they wanted adults to feel the same way as their kids. In Sydney they build a giant playland, for only adults. Before, or after their work, they could play and re-live their youth again..

The Chicago River was first dyed green in 1962 to coincide with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Nowadays each year on parade day, a crew led by Mike Butler uses about 40 pounds of dye to colour the river green. Depending on the currents the river will stay green for about five hours. This was a perfect way to promote McDonald’s seasonal green Shamrock Shake.

Today the 21st Winter Olympics start in Vancouver Canada. Four years ago it was held in Torino, Italy. At that time McDonald’s was an official sponsor and this advertisement was made for that occasion. It looks like the Golden Arches of the Fast-Food chain but they are actually the front part of the skis.
