Stella Artois continues the “She is a thing of beauty” campaign with “She”, a television commercial celebrating the Stella name. Bert & Sander prefer Stella while I am a big fan of Heineken. I have absolutely no idea why they have not posted this campaign since it actually really good.
A Norton motorbike, a sports car and a guitar is shown with respective names of Sophie, Victoria and Valerie. Cut through to a lager with the name, Stella.

This is a commercial for Coca Cola that aired in Australia and once in the UK (2006). The song playing is ‘Love Is The Truth’ written by Jack White (The White Stripes).
The concept is genial and rarely seen before in the advertising business!

Nurofen is the brand name of a range of pain-relief medication made by Reckitt Benckiser. Mother London, the well known British agency, created three ads where the operation of Nurofen is explained in an enjoyable way.. One is even in 3D!
Check out the two other spots after the jump.
Stella Artois and Mother London are the perfect match. Their commercials nowadays always have this “vintage-french”-feeling (but we know better). This new commercial also does, and compares a pint with a woman..
And believe it or not, they don’t differ that much…

It’s raining men? In this spot it doesn’t..
Mother London made a shocking ad for Plane Stupid, an organization fighting aviation expansion.
It tells that “an average European flight produces over 400kg of greenhouse gases for every passenger…that’s the weight of an adult polar bear.”..
How to make this fact clear to a crowd? Well by showing polar bears falling from the sky to splattery deaths. Probably it will evoke extremely negative emotions for some. But yeah it’s a fact: shocking ads spread like fire!

I’m always in a discussion with Rindert about the superiority of Stella Artois. You can see again Rindert, Stella is slowly conquering Heineken also on advertising level…
Love the design of this ad!

Again a fantastic campaign created by Mother London, this time it’s for Schweppes (owned by Coca Cola).
These ads are published in the London newspaper The Times. The campaign, launched in March 2009, will continue with a fresh cartoon every two weeks untill the end of this year. These black and white cartoons are making fun of actual problems.
The two small images below are laughing with the inexperience of the financial industry.
The big image however tells us something completely different. It’s referring to the mexican swine flu, this will probably shock some people… And it did! After complains of the Mexican embassy, Coca Cola Schweppes decided to stop this campaign.
Coca-Cola Great Britain explains the withdrawal of the print advertisement. “The essence of the Schweppes ‘Experience Matters’ campaign is celebrating the very British tradition of satire. The cartoons are designed to bring a smile to an otherwise gloomy news agenda and reflect topical issues in the news. It is not our intention to offend however, and following discussions with the Mexican Embassy in London, we took the decision to remove the advert immediately.”

Ah, le Cinéma! Remember the days when men were strong and silent, women were chic and sophistiqué, and the action was as smooth as our 4% triple filtered beer? Formidable!
At Stella Artois, we have gone back in time to rediscover these films – the orgininals, before Hollywood did to them what Hollywood, sadly does..
Vive le cinema triple filter
Stella Artois (Best Beer in the World), has created the ‘Smooth Originals’ campaign to promote the launch of their 4% beer. On the site you can review three sixties-style remakes of Hollywood blockbusters: Huit Kilomètres, Dial Hard, and Vingt-Quatre Heurs.
Going retro for a brand is certainly not new (George Clooney – Martini) , but the ‘Smooth Originals’ is one of the best I’ve ever seen.
