Quality of roads is the eternal problem of Yekaterinburg – the fourth largest city of Russia. The local site URA.RU, which writes about life in the city, decided to remind politicians that it is their duty to repair the roads. The problem is – the politicians don’t care about potholes, their only worry is their own public image. Then Ura.ru and the russian agency Voskhod came up with this idea, which got a lot of media attention.

This campaign is a couple of months old but we’ve just picked it up again and absolutely love it. The Peruvian newspaper ‘El Bocón’, one of the countries leading sports newspapers, took a stand for peace in soccer violence. When a fan got killed in riots after a match, they removed all of the soccer news out of their newspaper. They left blank spots where the news was supposed to be. Great innovative way to take a stand as a newspaper.

The Sun, the British News Corp tabloid, launched “Football Brought to Life”, a series of four animated TV adverts featuring Wayne Rooney’s overhead scissor kick goal for United against Manchester City in February 2011. The series was inspired by a football video animated by Richard Swarbrick.
