Courrier International is a popular newspaper in France. Recently they’ve created the following print campaign. It shows two passenger jets passing harmlessly over a scaled-down version of the Twin Towers. It presumably suggests that with foresight the World Trade Center wouldn’t have been bombed down.
Logically this print ad is not loved by all, especially when they publish it a week before 9/11..

The Cape Times is a South African newspaper, with these prints they want to illustrate how close they always are to the news. 3 historic events are used to make this point clear, first of all the ’shoe-attack’ on George Bush Jr (2008), secondly the studentprotests at Tianmen square in China (1989) and lastly the landing on the moon (1969).

The Sun is one of the best selling english newspapers in the world, daily there are more than 3.200.000 papers sold. The last couple of years are difficult times for newspapers, because digital media is becoming bigger and bigger. And sadly, I think there won’t be a lot of newspapers left in a couple of decades. Too bad, because the feeling of a newspaper in your hands is still the best. That’s what The Sun tries to communcate in this ad. They’ve done this in a really simple way, I like it a lot.

Chicago Tribune: Both sides of the story

The Chicago Tribune is a daily newspaper based in Chicago, Illinois, United States, formerly self-styled as the “World’s Greatest Newspaper”. It is currently the eighth largest newspaper in America by circulation and the second largest under Tribune’s ownership behind Los Angeles Times.

Typical for the Chicago Tribune is that they always look at both sides of a story, what is shown in this campaign.
They have been running a print advertising campaign outlining the difference a newspaper with integrity can make to the community.

This is a promotion for the CD give away in The Sydney Morning Herald of performances by The Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
I’m not saying this is a brilliant ad, but if you get this in your hands it’s always cool to see new creative ideas. It would get a smile on my face if I saw this.
