League against cancer uses this classical shark attack story in their newest commercial. A lifeguard and a couple of swimmers keep building the suspension, until the commercial comes to a complete anticlimax. It will definitely get your attention.

UTEC or The University of Engineering and Technology, needed a solution to get students interested in applying for an engineering program. They decided to start by changing a local problem. Lima is the second largest capital in the world set on a desert, so the lack potable water is a huge problem. Having in mind that the presence of rain is almost zero, but at the same time the atmospheric humidity is about 98%, this inspired them to build the first billboard that produces drinking water out of air.

In Peru the majority of the children can’t even read. To make the people aware of this huge problem this fun campaign was launched. They found a medium to access an enormous part of the population, the ATM machine. When you are getting money from an ATM you can’t just simply walk away from the message. It looks a bit risky though, a lot of people won’t like their privacy to be ‘invaded’ when it comes to their personal finances.

At first sight it looks like a car missed the curve, but when you look closer it’s completely different. The metal is bent the other way around so the car got onto the road in this curve. A great offroad vehicle so it appears.

This campaign is a couple of months old but we’ve just picked it up again and absolutely love it. The Peruvian newspaper ‘El Bocón’, one of the countries leading sports newspapers, took a stand for peace in soccer violence. When a fan got killed in riots after a match, they removed all of the soccer news out of their newspaper. They left blank spots where the news was supposed to be. Great innovative way to take a stand as a newspaper.

Celebrating 125 years of Coca-Cola continues. This time they use the happiness theme in Peru. In a crowded district in Lima they deliberately left a wallet containing $100, now it comes down to testing people’s honesty. Who will return it to it’s rightful owner and receive a ‘happiness’ welcome? Apparently 70% did!

Interbank in Peru ran a print advertising campaign using unfinished works of art to promote a three minute car loan application process. Mosaic, rug, pointillism and paper balls are used to demonstrate the concept of people beginning detailed work with great focus, before losing patience. “Some people can’t wait. We offer car loans granted within 3 minutes”.

This print campaign has been made for a Thai beauty product, softening your skin.
Boot Body Cream wanted to focus on the aspect that the cream makes you look sexier. And what is one of the most attractive part with women? Right their breasts.. Nice point of view from McCann Erickson!

Coincidence or not, but this month another similar campaign appeared. Not in Thailand but in Peru. A campaign of the Peruvian League Against Cancer who made an awareness campaign promoting mammograms.
It has been created by Young & Rubicam, Peru.
