Amnesty International: Credits

I always liked the ads made for non-profit organisations. The main advantage for them is that they can be really shocking without having to worry about the image of the company. This commercial for Amnesty International is shocking again. It gets a bit boring after a while, maybe they should have shortened it a little. But still it delivers the message great, and that’s what they want in the end. Off course you only want to see this ad once, after that it lost it’s catch.

CALM: Landmines are still a problem

In 89 countries walking on a mine is still a routine. Ketchup sachets were used to demonstrate the horrific nature of the invisible weapons. As you tear open the sachet you also rip through the child’s leg and the ketchup inside will pour out like blood.

Stihl: Beduin

Andreas Stihl AG & Company is a manufacturer of chain saws and other handheld power equipment including trimmers and blowers. The company was founded in 1926 by Andreas Stihl, an important innovator in early chain saw production.

This is a funny ad for Stihl chainsaws, obviously there are no trees in the Sahara so should we feel sorry for the poor camel? I wonder what this Beduin is going to do with his new chainsaw. Slogan for this ad is: “€199 That gives you the desire to cut things up.”

We’ve already done 3 posts of Stihl on this blog, aparently I’m a fan… Here you can see the first and the second one.

Cadbury: Here today goo tomorrow

Cadbury creme egg is a popular chocolate candy in England. Every year Cadbury launches a promotion campaign right before easter. In 2008 the ads began on January 1, the earliest Cadbury has ever started a Creme Egg campaign. But in 2008 the campaign was different, Cadbury got rid of their old image, they released a multimillion-pound campaign.
It exists out of 3 parts: the first part is a series of 20 television ads, they got a tremendous viral result online. They also made an interactive bus shelter ad, thirdly they did ad placements in online video games. You can check it all out on this website.

The slogan for the campaign delivers the main idea: “Here today, goo tomorrow”.

Normally there should be 20 ads in total for the first season, I only found 16 of them. Can anyone help me with the others? We saw the ultimate finale of the season yesterday, but I can’t find it online. It’s a slow motion version of the mousetrap video featuring 225 Creme Eggs being “gooed” in mousetraps requiring 23 hours to set up but just nine seconds to shoot.

The last movie is a home made egg goo commercial, it was entered for a competition organised by Cadbury.

Enjoy the other TV adverts after the jump.

Here is yet another brilliant advertisement made for Wonderbra. A lady is holding shopping bags in both her hands and still she has the ability to hold up her umbrella.

Orange: words

With its September campaign “Words”, Orange is introducing its new generic Internet campaign. The campaign is based on a simple idea: one single word can be used to cover a number of situations, from everyday scenarios to highly emotional, intense moments.
The way in which words can have several meanings in life has led them to reconsider what we mean by the term “Internet”. The “les mots” campaign uses the idea that with Orange “there is Internet and Internet”.

So far Bert, Sander and I have posted a Wonderbra advertisement. Today it is my turn to post another great print ad made for Wonderbra. Normally it is the other way around but this time it is the father that is not allowed to look.

Other Wonderbra advertisements will be posted soon, and girls don’t worry Bert and Sander will find some more woman friendly ads soon.

Red Cross: Can’t see us…

“Perhaps you can’t see us, but we are there” is the slogan for this advertising campaign. It’s a subtle reaction towards the media. The only time you can see these aid agencies in the news is when a disaster happened. For example the earth quake in Sumatra, now you hear lot’s of people are helping, but actually these organisations help people all of the time!!

I also love the photography for this one, can somebody tell me if there has been a lot of post production? Especially the third one looks kinda unnatural…

Boag’s Draught: Pure Waters of Tasmania

These pure waters are special, something goes in there, comes out different. But in a good way. Don’t know why, suppose it’s always been that way. Sure things don’t always turn out the way you expect, but nobody’s complaining.
