Nike is introducing the Fuelband. A device which you put around your wrist that measures your movements throughout the day. Via a smartphone-application the user can set up a goal they want to reach per day, and then try to beat it.

Vögele Shoes is a Swiss shoe label, offering shoe fashions at affordable prices. The campaign shows models, whose legs protrude from holes in closed shoe boxes. Around the real legs, there is the person of an artist printed on the box.

As part of its campaign for the recent New York City Marathon, Vitro conceived this video wall that depicted long distance runner Ryan hall sprinting at marathon speed across a tunnel in NYC’s Columbus Circle subway station. The wall featured a countdown, which allowed passersby to get in position and then see how they fared racing alongside the athlete.

Here is something you don’t see often. 3D projection on buildings is boosting the last few months, but it is a manner of time before brands will rush into this project, water projection. Projecting video images on spraying water, in this case for the launch of the new Jordan Melo M8.

For those of you in the UK, be sure to keep your eyes open. Converse has begun placing In Case of Emergency (I.C.E.) boxes that contain several pairs of shoes that lucky passers-by can help themselves to. Posting a photo of the shoes on Facebook.com/converse will also give three lucky winners a chance to win an adventure to the 100 Club on November 24. Find an empty box? All is not lost. Adventurers should look out for the message inside the I.C.E. box and tweet their emergency (#converseboots) for another chance to win a pair.

New balance wants to promote their brand new store in New York City. Therefore they have created “Urban Dash”, an iPhone app that challenges you to find hundreds of virtual batons throughout New York. Each day around 20 batons are released and if you make it to the store with one of them you will win a free pair of New Balance 574 shoes. The one with the most batons will win a 14k gold Baton.

Soccer has become the stage for recurring racist demonstrations. Asics created a way to get this problem under the attention. They chose soccerplayer Loco Abreu to wear a white and black soccershoe during a match. Watch the video to see the result.

German shoe company Gortz 17 and design company Kempertrautmann have come out with the first recyclable shoebox that makes the plastic bag unnecessary. The minimalist design draws attention to the handles, which can be removed and used as shoelaces. The series consists of five colour-coordinated designs that match flawlessly with Görtz 17′s Converse Collection.
