Ukraine is the worlds’ most dangerous place for pedestrians because of cars driving too fast. Shell wanted to make drivers aware of this fact and invented the ‘pedestrian ghost‘. They built in a mechanism on some Ukrainian roads where speeding cars were confronted with one of these ghosts.. Result; a lot of free PR.

Instead of some bird poo on your windshield you can also experience other stains, even on the inside of your car. This smart visualisation is telling an entire story in one single image. The ice cream got thrown against the windshield because the car needed to make an emergency stop, luckily the child carrying the ice cream (not in the image) isn’t joining it’s sweet. “Back seat belts: they’re there for a reason.”

According to some Russian sires, this was a real accident, not a guerilla campaign created by the advertiser. The ‘accident’occurred this winter in a city called Tomsk. You can see a car that slipped and crashed into the billboard. On the billboard it says “Speed must be reasonable”.
Fake or real? What do you think?

Please take 3 minutes of your time to watch this television commercial; it’s definitely worth it. The Australian agency 303 took a completely different approach on road safety by comparing speeding in your car to speeding in life. Most of you will probably take a breath after this.
