British Airways has launched its biggest brand advertising campaign in more than a decade, with adverts on peak-time TV, in newspapers and online.

BA chief executive Keith Williams said: “The campaign represents the opening of a new chapter.” The adverts will focus on BA’s heritage and emphasise the motto on BA crew uniforms: “To Fly, To Serve.” Have a look at their Facebook Page for more info.

In order to promote the new Blu-ray disc of the Star Wars series, the BT-Tower in London went through a remarkable transformation. The tower was changed into a giant lightsaber and could be viewed from around London.

Banrock Station: Living Interactive Billboard

An interactive billboard appeared at Westfield London shopping centre made from 800 wildflowers. Eco Charge created a kinetic energy pump that invited shoppers to interact with Banrock’s communication. The ‘pump it’ game triggered a spray mist watering system that watered the plants and gave the user a sense of feeling good about their participation in nurturing nature.” Over 800 native British plants from 14 different species and taking more than 12 hours to install.

Banrock Station has a history of connecting with the environment through its marketing, including wetland sponsorship in Australia and an Eden Project association in the UK in recent years. In this project sales of the wine will help raise £30,000 for Natural England to spend on their National Nature Reserves to help protect and enhance wildflower meadows across Britain.


Gillette: World’s Biggest Shave

Street Advertising Services created the UK’s largest ever grass advert on a rugby pitch in Wimbledon for a PR stunt for Gillette. Recreating Roger Federers face with the use of robotic technology and industrial paint spraying techniques. SAS then covered Rogers face with 1000 litres of shaving foam before shaving it off with a lawn mower.

Manchester United Created this video for their American Tour. The video shows in stop motion how the American flag is recreated with Manchester United shirts.. The video reminds us of a Japanese campaign for the apparel maker Onward Kashiyama which was even more impressive!


Westfield Stratford City: Century Style Dance

This video is a 100 year countdown to the grand opening of Westfield Stratford City on September 13th 2011, and celebrates a century of East London fashion, dance and music.

Directed by Jake Lunt, the film was shot over 4 days in east London locations with hundreds of costume changes. The music was commissioned from Oscar nominated genius Tristin Norwell who took a simple tune and interpreted it for each decade over 100 years.”

Ikea has launched a personalised 3D showroom facility on YouTube using information drawn from the Facebook profiles of viewers. Visitors to youtube.com/IKEAUK are shown an IKEA bedroom designed to perfectly suit them based on their own Facebook information and living situation. IKEA has even gone to the trouble of hanging photos of customers’ loved ones on the walls to ensure they really do experience their perfect bedroom environment. Other features in the 3D showroom include the ability to see detailed product information and to click through to Ikea.co.uk to purchase any home furnishings featured within the bedroom.
