The shoulder poke is used to communicate Volkswagen’s Side Assist in the most simple way. To explain the technology that warns drivers of the presence of a vehicle in their car’s blind spot, they tapped pedestrians on the shoulder. By doing this they were warned that someone was about to pass them. Finally, they handed out the flyer with the message “A signal when you don’t see anything”.
