FiftyFifty: Frozen Cinema

Cool stunt performed in a German theater. They turned down the airconditioning and put blankets on people seats. When the movie was about to start, some homeless people told that 8° degrees is still pretty ok to sleep. On the blankets there were QR-codes that people could scan to donate some money to keep the homeless people warm.

Cool ( haha) idea. BUT: I am from Düsseldorf where this was obviously produced and there was absolutely no spreading and no media coverage. Seen this thing for the first time here.
I’m sure they’ve done it once and the only people donating were paid for it by havas.
And you can be sure that this thing wasn’t done all across Germany. Smells like a huge, huge fake for me.

Hi Frank,
of course it’s good to see everything criticial. But here are the facts: The major of Düsseldorf and local press took part in the first of several cinema stunts. We did not pay the major or anyone else. (There were 200 people in the cinema not knowing what will happen.) The whole crew of 15 people worked many days for free. And yes, there are cinemas in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, etc. taking part this winter – and even more across all of Germany next winter. In the first weeks in Düsseldorf we managed to raise several thousand Euros, but the number is raising as the news spread. 30.000 klicks on youtube speak for itself. It really works.
